The breakfast had plenty of fresh food, teas, coffee, cranberry juice, OJ, snacks, homemade cookies, and granola bars. Our room at The Virginian was cozy and super clean, with fresh water waiting for us. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They even gave us ice for our cooler and said we could use the restroom after checkout. There’s a beautiful, cozy patio out back, too. My husband and I are going back next month for the Marine half marathon!

We brought our dog and felt very welcome, enough to give them 5 bones on Bring Fido. The dog rooms are off the courtyard, where you can sit outside with your pooch. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with great bedding. The staff went above and beyond, and Liz deserves a thank-you. Everything downtown is walkable from this Fredericksburg location.

We were greeted as soon as we got out of the car in the private parking lot and asked if we needed a hand. They showed us the lovely dining and living rooms before taking us to our bedroom, which was just as nice. The hosts left a few surprises, which I’ll keep to myself so other guests can enjoy them too. Our bathroom was private but across the hall; the robes they provided made that no problem. Breakfast was a treat, and everyone was warm and accommodating. We’d happily stay again.

The history around here is a real bonus, much of it within walking distance, and the guided historical trolley rides start right across the street. We left the car at the main B&B and had a great weekend. The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated, with a quaint courtyard. Our Sawyer room was very comfortable, and had both a shower and a huge claw tub. Breakfast, served at the enormous dining table, was amazing. We’ll definitely be back, whether for a short break or a longer stay.
