The furniture and doors are dated, but that's part of the charm. Fredonia is a fun place to say you stayed, and if you like old highway stops instead of corporate run chains, this is a great spot.

The bed was comfortable, and the pillow was good for my back. The room felt cranky and needs an upgrade. It was dusty and not clean, with mold in the shower. The shower had no light and a black curtain, and the water swung between really cold and boiling. 🫣

Each room is its own cabin, which I thought was really cool. It felt like being in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere, a nice place to get out of the city and relax. We booked after 10pm while driving to visit the north side of the grand canyon. The owner waited over an hour to check us in, even though check in was meant to be closed for the night. We didn't know where we were, and he stayed on the phone for a while to guide us. He said, "the place is lit up like a christmas tree," and it really was easy to find. I'd recommend it for a few nights while visiting the north side of the canyon, especially if you're from the city.

Chuck was wonderful when I had to reschedule after a death in the family. He moved things around without charging any fees. I was in room 5, and for the price you can't beat it, but the room is falling apart and the owners need to do maintenance. The bathroom needs serious work, and the ceiling is extremely concerning because of asbestos. About the grand canyon reviews, it's easy to map things and look up the difference between the north rim and south rim. The south rim is open most of the year, while the NORTH rim closes in winter and early spring. That's not the property's fault, and they aren't responsible for refunding people who didn't do their research.

A fun little trip back in time. The bed was good, the shower hot, and the price reasonable. It was cleaner and better than the Days Inn in Kanab. I'd stay again.
