Hampton Inn Freeport

We came for a wedding and stayed a few days. The hotel was just ten minutes from the church and only minutes from the local park. It was clean, with friendly, professional staff. Elizabeth and the rest of the team were helpful, and breakfast had a big selection, much better than at most premium hotels. There was plenty of parking, and our kids made good use of the indoor pool. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

I’d planned to split a room with two other people, but they both got sick and left me stuck with the full price of a room I can’t afford. When I contacted the property, they said cancelling meant I’d be charged for the whole stay. This place used to go above and beyond and the people used to be kind and understanding, especially around the holidays. Now it feels like they care only about themselves and would rather leave someone broke than show some understanding.

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean, though old and dated. The staff member who checked my husband in was very nice. The hotel is quite run down. Our refrigerator stayed warm and there was no way to turn it up. There wasn’t an ice machine on our floor either. We were told the only one was on the fifth floor, which doesn’t seem adequate for an eight-floor hotel. The TV was in an odd spot, so watching from bed meant straining your neck.

They make you feel comfortable here. Hospitality matters to them, and they seem to pay attention to their guests.
