Days Inn by Wyndham Fresno Central

For under $100, this was probably the best place I've stayed in for years. The room was clean, well kept, spacious, and had a fridge and microwave, plus a really comfortable king bed. Staff were helpful and knew their stuff. We only needed an inexpensive overnight stop in a convenient spot, and Days Inn turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommend it.

The carpet had pee stains and insects, including roaches, and the furniture was outdated. The property is poorly maintained, and breakfast was terrible. They put me in a pet-friendly room without even asking about pet allergies, though I don't have pets. The carpets need a proper cleaning so they don't attract insects. I've never had such a bad stay at a Days Inn, and I wouldn't return. If you can pay a few dollars more, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The room was big and private, with a large bathroom and nice AC. It also had a microwave and fridge. But roaches were crawling on the floor and walls, and I saw them in the fridge and AC. When I set the AC to warm, more seemed to come out, and there was a roach smell. The floor hadn't been vacuumed, and there were used diabetic test strips on it. We messed up the towels and expected some of the deposit to be withheld, but the receptionist first said they'd keep the full $100 because of the towels. They were rough, coarse towels, the kind I'd expect at a dollar store. In the end, they kept $70. You could buy a good set for $40 on Amazon, and those would actually feel nice. I liked having the space and privacy, but the roaches, the smell, and the way the deposit was handled really put me off.

We were on our way south to see the grandparents after a long day at Yosemite, and my family just needed somewhere to crash for one night. I expected a Days Inn to be okay because the one in Billings was probably the best place I'd found for the price. I also mixed up the reviews for this one with the North end property. This is not a good part of town, and the place wasn't kept up. There were cigarette burns on the comforter in our non-smoking room. I might have put up with the rest, but there was poo smeared on the bathroom wall. If my wife and kids hadn't been so exhausted, I would've left. I'm wary of what we might come down with after staying there. I'm posting pictures too.
