Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FRESNO NORTHWEST-HERNDON by IHG

For the $71 total I paid, this was great value, and I’d definitely stay again. The room was a good size for one person, though I imagine it would feel cramped with several people. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the bathroom was roomy with good towels, and the shower had decent spray and pressure. The TV was big, with a usable guide and a good channel selection, and the AC worked very well. Staff were very good. Parking was good, though maybe only just enough if the hotel were full. I noticed traffic noise, but couldn’t hear anything from neighboring rooms, so it wasn’t thin walls. I stayed one night in August and didn’t try breakfast. Overall, I’d rate it 7.7/10.

We drove 3 1/2 hours for my husband’s holiday party nearby and had a great experience. The room was very clean, breakfast was really good, and the woman who checked us in was very nice. Everyone at the front desk was friendly during our stay. I’d stay again.

The property is beautiful, and the front desk staff were always friendly. I liked their rotating breakfast. But sleep was impossible in my room because of freeway noise. It was 60-70 decibels all night, somewhere between having a conversation in the room and a washing machine running. Noise-canceling headphones didn’t help; on the second night, proper earplugs from Harbor Freight finally let me sleep. The wall thermostat seemed to do nothing, and the window unit appeared capped at 72 degrees and wouldn’t cool any further. It’s a shame, because the place looked lovely, but a hotel fails when you can’t sleep.

The cleaning staff were helpful about bringing extra pillows and towels, and the front desk staff were very pleasant to talk with. I’d highly recommend this hotel and stay again.
