Motel 6 Fresno, CA

There’s a downside to the convenient spot: it’s right at the HWY 99 & Olive Ave intersection, so getting on and off the freeway is easy, but the traffic noise never stops. There’s plenty of fast food nearby and a liquor store down the street. My room was clean and smelled nice, and the service was good. When my credit card was declined, the clerk was patient.

I like the beds, even though some people might find them uncomfortable. They don’t have dents in them. The room is quiet so far, but this is only my first day and I still have seven more to go 🥺. The bathroom is dirty: hair in the drain, which barely drains, more hair on the shower wall, mold in the grout, and paint chips on the floor. The floor turns your feet black, and the whole sink faucet is really loose. It’s ghetto.

We also learned a cool way to fold towels from one of the staff. Everyone was very friendly, and they made an obvious effort to keep the place clean. It was encouraging to see people going around fixing things. The motel felt safe despite the area, and I was pleasantly surprised because what I expected and what I experienced were totally different. I’d recommend it if you want an economical stay with friendly service and the bonus of bringing your pets.

The property put a hold on my debit or credit card and didn’t release it until 11 days after the stay. The room was filthy: stains and trash residue on the walls, a floor dirtier than the public streets, and dried bodily fluids all over the bathroom walls. If this hadn’t been a super-late stop, I would have refused to stay. This was the dirtiest accommodation I’ve ever seen, and the worst Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed at. The dirt feels like it’s in the property’s DNA. It needs to be shut down for sanitary issues.
