AC Hotel by Marriott Frisco Colorado

I booked one night online with a credit card, planning to pay the bill in cash when I checked out. They told me cash wasn't accepted for a stay. Since when isn't the US dollar accepted in the USA? It's accepted in Asia and Europe. I cancelled the booking. Another fail for Marriott and its loyalty program.

Waking up to that mountain-side morning view is a treat, and I love unwinding in the saltwater pool after a long drive or flight. The dinner menu is fantastic for a hotel, and they even have NA Heinekens. Water stations on every floor mean there's always plenty of water. The rooms are modern and clean, about what I'd expect from a Marriott. It's just what I need on a business trip.

The mountain view is stunning, with hiking trails nearby, and town is only a 2-3 minute drive for food or shopping. The outdoor fire pit, hot tub, and oxygen bar are nice extras. The front desk ladies were the best part of my stay: very professional and helpful, and they changed my room right away when I reported a problem. Cleanliness was a real letdown. My first room had head and body hair all over the shower floor. The third-floor microwave area had food mess on the counters and floor, and that microwave didn't heat at all, so I used the working one on the second floor. There was also a strange smell in the hallway by the elevators. Parking costs $10 a day, and you need to put the physical pass in your car after check-in. There's a refundable $60 incidental deposit. Breakfast isn't included, so bring food or go into town. The view and staff were great, but the dirty bathroom and microwave area were a major disappointment for me.

The breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly. It's a clean, nice hotel right off the highway. My only issues were the parking charge and the really small sink area.
