I hadn't been back in a while, though I loved this restaurant under its former owners. This visit was such a lovely evening, and it got me excited about eating out in the area again. The owner was warm and welcoming, and you could feel how much she loves what she does throughout the experience. I called for a last-minute reservation and was met with kindness, and the same was true when we arrived and were seated. The menu has a great range of choices, including options for V/GF diners like me, so I didn't have to hunt for something I could eat. The staff were attentive without hovering.

We had dinner at the Oxford House as a group of four last night. The scallops, octopus, chicken, and pork were all cooked perfectly, and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was quaint and pleasant too. But our waitress wasn't especially friendly, and they began switching off the lights while we were still finishing dessert. After spending close to $500, we felt rushed out. The food deserved better service, so we left a little disappointed.

I stayed for the weekend because I had a marathon nearby. The room was just right, and the hosts were incredibly attentive and nice. Mike was quite the chef. The view was great, and the food was superb.
