Our first reservation was canceled by the hotel just an hour before check-in because they were overbooked, so we had to find a room blocks away for that night. With the second group reservation, we arrived to find no running water or pillows, a huge hole in the bathroom ceiling, an unvacuumed floor, and a large unexplained stain on a chair. The room was dated and poorly kept. Most staff at the desk were rude and dismissive when I reported it. General manager Travis was there and was the only one who was even remotely helpful. After Travis resolved the room issues, we found more: the phone and lamp were broken, there was no TV remote so the TV couldn’t be used, no Wi-Fi, and no towels. The other three rooms in our group had the same problems. At 6:52 p.m. I called the desk and was brushed off again. The employee said they’d only started work at 3, didn’t know why the room hadn’t been cleaned, and couldn’t say whether we’d get towels. They hung up on me twice. There was no shampoo, just a tiny conditioner bottle and a small bar of soap for the shower and sink. We’re extremely upset and embarrassed that our team signed up here. They don’t provide basic necessities or take responsibility, and the customer service was awful. A dead roach sat in the lobby by the elevator for hours, which made me wonder how many more there were. We’ve visited Virginia Beach every year for 21 years and never had a hotel problem until this, by far our worst experience. I plan to send a formal complaint to corporate. Don’t spend your hard-earned money here. They don’t care about their customers.

When I’m in the area, I tend to come back here. It’s affordable, quiet, and cozy, with a nice ocean view. The staff are ready to help, especially Kayla the front desk manager. They accommodate my needs, and sometimes let me check out at 1 p.m. instead of 11, which is a big plus for me. I like that it’s low profile. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done, and I recommend it. Thanks, Ramada at Virginia Beach :)

The staff were good, and the view from the porch was the only nice part of the property. The hotel felt rundown and dirty for the price. The hallway carpets were stained, the tub’s finish had worn away, and I could only hope it was actually clean. The furniture barely fit the room, and a surge protector was dangling in midair as an extension cord. One elevator was out on a very busy weekend, and our keys stopped working on checkout day. Paying $412 plus a $100 pet fee for two nights here was incredibly frustrating.

Dee was wonderful again, and Manager on duty is always a joy. The pool heater was out and they were short staffed, but the team pulled together and got things done. Special thanks to Maintenance Man Paul for stepping in to help. Always a great stay, hope you enjoy your vacation.

Being new to VA. Bch, I didn’t know where to go for anything, but AnnaMarie, Delicia, and Cindy gave me lots of helpful information. All the staff were wonderful, and those three were customer service excellence. I’d never stayed at a hotel on the beach before, and seeing the Christmas lights at night was exciting. A young man also checked that I was happy. I’ve recommended the hotel to family and friends, and I’ll stay at the Ramada again when I come back.
