Oceanfront Inn

The manager was dismissive when we raised the problems at checkout, saying we didn’t have to stay there, and refused to look at the photos we offered. Housekeeping knocked at 10 am even though checkout was at noon. We never got fresh towels or had the dirty ones collected. I won’t stay here again and really don’t recommend it. Our first visit was the first weekend in February, when it was very cold outside. The lobby was warm and cozy, but the room heater didn’t work properly. The manager said the whole hotel was having heating issues because of the extreme cold, though that didn’t seem true in the lobby. The thermostat was set to 72, but the room was much colder and the heater blew cold air while making constant noise. We could also hear pipes squeaking and popping. The showerhead was disgusting, and the water kept swinging from hot to extremely cold.

The room was in a nice spot, and the staff were very nice. We did enjoy our stay, and it was okay overall. But the floors stayed very dirty, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, and nobody came to clean the room until our third day. The toilet paper holder and an electrical outlet were pulled out of the wall. It all felt dated. The AC was really loud, the pool was cold and its surrounding area wasn’t clean, and the sheets had a spot on them. The extra blankets were very old. The balcony door could use a light and a screen too.

The booking was for a handicapped room on the fifth floor with a king bed, which we paid to reserve, but it wasn’t available when we arrived. They moved us to the fourth floor, where we were supposed to get two queen beds and accessible facilities. Instead, there were two double beds and only partial accessibility. The shower was in a tub raised to jacuzzi height, which we couldn’t get into. The balcony transom was so high we couldn’t use it at all. Service was horrible, and getting a late checkout was impossible because the manager wasn’t available. What a joke. We feel like we’ve been had.

The staff were very nice, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The beds were so high, though, that they’re hard for shorter people with arthritis. If you’re under 5’ 2”, bring a step stool. Anything fun was kind of far away too.
