Cutty Sark Efficiencies

Jerry, Doug, and Martha are all really nice, and I enjoy staying here. My father and I came last year for the NAS Oceana Naval Air Show, returned again this year, and I plan to stay here for that show every year. I didn’t catch the housekeeping folks’ names.

This review is about the cottage I rented. The rooms were outdated and dirty, with lots of roaches even though the rental office says they treat them. The carpets looked like they’d never been vacuumed and were filthy. In my opinion, this place isn’t worth it, especially if you have kids. Look at the roaches on the floor in the pictures.

Cutty Sark is an adorable little property, a time capsule from 1975, but clean and functional. I found it while looking for more affordable places in Va Beach. Check-in was seamless, there was plenty of off-street parking, and the small pool was well kept. The beds had been updated and were very comfortable, and the room was immaculate. It’s right across from Duncan and convenient to the beach. At 36th street, there’s an adult jungle gym on the beach, which was great for stretching and getting in a little workout at sunrise. I’d definitely stay again.

Helena, our housekeeper, was friendly and helpful, and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The room was very clean, the staff were lovely, and breakfast was tasty with a good range of choices. We also had a great view of the pool, ocean, and surrounding area, and found the mini putting area. We’d come back on another visit.
