Holiday Inn Express And Suites- Birmingham North-Fultondale, an IHG Hotel

We had a very kind evening check-in, and the breakfast was wonderful. The rest of the hotel looked well kept, which made the bathroom's grubby condition surprising. The toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall, and there was a moldy, unpleasant area around the bath and sink. The pool heater wasn't working during our stay. Still, the big room and comfortable beds made for a very nice stay.

I felt safe here, and the front desk clerk was helpful and very friendly. The rooms are a good size and well stocked, and the hotel was extremely clean. Breakfast had lots of choices and was great. It's also centrally located near several restaurants and stores. Easily the best Holiday Inn Express I've stayed at, and I'll make it a stop when I'm in this area again.

The woman in charge of breakfast made it especially enjoyable. She greeted every guest warmly and kept everything hot, fresh, and nicely presented. It's one of the best Holiday Inn Express locations I've stayed at, with an exceptional breakfast.

We've stayed here at Christmas for the past three years without trouble, but this time the people above us kept us awake the first night. We needed two more nights and learned the price would double because of Christmas night. An IHG representative spoke to the manager, who said he'd call us, but no call came. When the desk clerk reached him, he wouldn't discuss the rate, even though the hotel was about three-quarters empty. He'll lose those two nights, and we won't be back.
