Avoid this place until they get new management. Customer service is terrible. The African American manager, I think his name is David, always has so many excuses. I asked for ice because the machine was broken and got cussed out. There’s no washer or dryer, and the roach and stink bug problem is bad, so I hope you’re not afraid of them. It’s $300 a week for nothing, and only Fox 5 works on my cable. I don’t know if that’s true for everyone else.
The staff were unprofessional, and the rooms were filthy and run down. The carpets were very dirty, the room stank, and all the furniture had big dirty spots. People staying by the month ran up and down the hall cursing, with dogs loose. I’ve traveled for work for 35 years and stayed in hotels across the US and Mexico, and I’ve never been in a place this dirty.
We saw a room that looked clean, but after checking in, the sink looked like someone had thrown up in it. There were cigarette ashes everywhere, the sheets needed changing, and only one of the four light fixtures worked. When we asked the desk clerk for the clean room we’d paid for, they gave us grief. I’ll never rent here again. This place should be shut down and closed.
The suite was warm, clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the staff were accommodating and friendly. It does need updating, and the carpet should be replaced. The Jacuzzi faucet was wiggly, though it worked well, and the plumbing backs up a bit while showering, but it wasn’t a big deal. It’s no Taj Mahal, but better than the one-star ratings suggest.
I asked for another room, not even a refund at first, because I was exhausted after driving for over an hour and just wanted to rest. The desk clerk said no rooms were available and offered cleaning supplies instead. When we then asked for a refund, we were refused and told to leave if we didn’t like the policy. Tina said she was the manager and told us to “get over it.” The law arrived and told my fiance, daughter, and me to leave. The officers wouldn’t let us go back for a phone charger or take pictures for corporate or another manager or owner. I had a panic attack in public, hyperventilating and gasping for air, but instead of helping, the officers yelled in my face to calm down. Anyone with social anxiety and severe panic attacks knows that only makes you more panicked. The room felt like a cesspool, like one of those hidden TV shows showing bacteria and filth you can’t see. I walked straight to the restroom after the drive and found someone else’s trash, including ladies Aunt Flo type of trash. Then I pulled back the shower curtain and found a pile of red, greasy-looking vomit. I was horrified. We don’t drink or do drugs, and my man works every day. We’d planned to camp for Memorial Day but got rained out and needed a last-minute room for the rest of the night. We hadn’t even been on the property a whole hour before being kicked out, with no refund. It was my first ban from a property, and I was scammed out of 80 bucks. Well played, Country Hearth. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to treat people how you’d want to be treated. Ask to see the room before paying. It’s not an uncommon request.
