Motel 6 Gainesville, FL

For the price, I was happy with my stay and would gladly return. It's in a great location, with Marco's pizza down the street, plus Publix, taco bell, and other restaurants. They took our service dog, and the checkout staff were friendly. I was accidentally booked on the 3rd floor, but the man adjusted it. The room had a mini fridge, HBO, and a hot shower. The towels seemed poorly washed and were disappointing, and the parking lot felt sketchy at night. The place is hard to reach: you have to go through the BP station using only the first entrance. Miss it, and you'll wind up back on the freeway. I've seen worse motel 6's in scary areas, so this one was fine.

I won't be back. The rooms smell strongly of cigarette smoke, and housekeeping doesn't speak English. At checkout, the manager banged on my door and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. Very rude and unprofessional.

My mom had booked a one-bed room, but I joined her at the last minute. The front desk lady moved us to a two-bed room without us asking and didn't charge extra. That was a welcome surprise, since friendly service isn't something you usually get at cheap, run-down roadside motels. She was GREAT, though I forgot her name, but I know it started with M. The room itself was a little dated and run down, a typical Motel 6, nothing special. You get what you pay for, it's a 6 after all.

The rooms are really outdated, and the heat didn't work. For the price, the old building was fine otherwise. The only complaint was the lady asking if anyone had drugs, and that wasn't too bad.
