Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center

I knew the area, but on my first work trip to this Marriott I realized just how good the location is. The room was superb, with a great water view, and great dining options at the Rio were within walking distance. Service was top notch. Special thanks to Sajag Puri, who went out of his way to make my stay great and our colleagues feel welcome.

This is usually an enjoyable hotel for me, but this stay was different. The room wasn’t stocked with Life Water, yet I was charged $5.69 for it. I spotted the charge and called the hotel, and the manager removed it. One of my associates said he had the same charge on his bill. This is a preferred hotel for our organization. Marriott can do better. I wonder how much they’ve made from charging for the water. Check your bills.

The service is what keeps me at this hotel whenever I visit the area. I once had a freak accident and dropped my phone down the elevator shaft. The whole staff went above and beyond to retrieve it, and had it delivered to my office the next morning. A special shout out to Desmond. Secure your phone before getting on an elevator, it can happen!

We almost always stay here when we’re back in town to visit friends and family. There are so many restaurants and shops a short walk away, which is a huge bonus because it means we don’t have to get stuck in the area’s bad traffic.
