Chic & Central Ventura Home - Walk to Beach!

The shower had only lukewarm water, and its handle fell off the first time we used it. The room was in very poor condition, and, worst of all, full of bedbugs. I woke with a small rash, then had bites all over my body the second morning. Stay away. The place felt dirty and filthy, with very sketchy people around. Such a disappointment in a beautiful city and area. Check-in was a nightmare. We booked through Expedia, whose photos didn’t match the place we actually stayed, and they couldn’t find our reservation at first.

We like the classic Ventura feel at Shores Inn and along the Pierpont strip. There are lots of good restaurants close by, and the beach is an easy walk even with chairs. If needed, there’s parking at the beach, too. Our kids enjoyed the early continental breakfast snacks and the little ground-floor patio by our room. We kept restaurant leftovers in the mini-fridge and warmed them up in the microwave for lunch. Hotel parking can fill up, but there are spaces in front of the ground-floor rooms if you arrive early. We always enjoy relaxing here in Ventura. Next time we’re booking one of the Beach Houses, can’t wait! :)

We were upgraded to the house, which was beautiful, and the location was perfect. The rooms were spacious and clean, everything was walkable, and the staff were so pleasant. We fell asleep to waves breaking on the beach and spotted dolphins as the sun went down. We love this place!

Beach Dukes Grill had fantastic local food, and the beachfront was only steps away. The place has a great atmosphere and is pet friendly. The staff were so helpful with my handicapped daughter’s needs, and she had a great time. Their hospitality made us feel like family. I’d love to come back and stay longer with family or friends. For us, this was better than a luxurious hotel, a 10 star stay.
