Farmers Guest House

Breakfasts were outstanding, and the cookies, wine, and cheese were a welcome bonus. The hosts at the Farmers Guest House were friendly and helpful, and the place was very clean and close to downtown Galena. They helped us carry our luggage up to our second-floor suite. Parking is across the street, but getting to the car was never a problem. We appreciated being able to reach the innkeepers if anything came up. I'd recommend this B&B and would stay again.

We loved the slow, quiet mornings and spent some time playing games in the main room. The inn is within walking distance of downtown, with easy parking nearby. Our room was clean and organized, and the staff were warm, communicative, and attentive, even bringing our luggage up and leaving waters and other drinks in the room. The happy hour treats and “wine time” were lovely. Best food we had all weekend was the delicious, unusual, and sometimes surprising breakfast. We felt well looked after during our anniversary visit.

The Julia room was lovely and well cared for, and the whole house has a charming, historic feel while still being cozy and up to date. Mark, Luke and Elaine are thoughtful hosts. They offered useful recommendations and were happy to answer questions about what we needed. Breakfast was easily among the best in Galena, especially the coffee cake. The inn is just steps from Main Street, but far enough away from the busy crowds. A great spot for a quiet couples trip.

The care and attention to detail here made us feel special. Mark, Luke and Elaine are real professionals, and I even asked who cooked because the food was presented and prepared so well. Best breakfast we've had in Galena, hands down. I don't eat cheese, but the daily cheese and wine are still a lovely touch. Farmers Guest House deserves every star, and we'll stay here whenever we can.
