The train along the street is loud, and the operators keep blowing their horns, so bring good foam earplugs. Even with that, I slept comfortably. The room and bed were clean, and the owners were kind and welcoming. It’s a simple, no-frills motel, but it felt safe and homey.

The family who owns this place was really kind and attentive, and the motel has smoking rooms and welcomes pets. It worked out well for me and the pups while we were on a road trip.

The room had several problems: the carpet wasn't very clean, brown water came from the faucet, the air didn't work, and neither did the room fan. Only two lamps worked, and all the few outlets were occupied, so we had to unplug the microwave to charge a phone. I paid for two queen beds, but we got two full-size ones. The pool was empty, and breakfast was cold cereal, dry toast, and coffee. The staff member was very nice when my mother mentioned the breakfast. She offered her a banana, then at checkout asked whether I was the guest traveling with two babies. When I said yes, she offered me bananas, chips, and water too. Still, if I’d known about the room and breakfast issues beforehand, I definitely would have stayed elsewhere.

The price was good, and the staff were friendly. The building is old and not luxurious, but it’s a reasonable place for a cheap night if that’s what you need. There’s a grocery store about a six-minute walk away, and Sonic is only two minutes on foot. Our fridge struggled even with the setting turned all the way up. We were glad to find breakfast was served, though we hadn't seen it advertised. It was a basic spread of cereal, bread, juice, milk, and similar items, and it wasn't hot. The rooms could have been cleaned more thoroughly. You can tell they don’t get a detailed deep clean between guests.
