Econo Lodge Galveston Seawall

It's easy to walk to the beach and restaurants, and the bed was large and comfortable. Beyond that, this is an old budget hotel, so don't expect much. The fridge was dirty, the walls were so thin I woke up every morning to my neighbor's TV, and our room only had leftover shampoo. We asked the front office for more, but they couldn't provide any. Breakfast was just packaged donuts and muffins, with coffee in the office. There's no coffee maker in the room.

We finally gave up on staying after roaches, about the size of small coffee lids, came out of everything as soon as we entered the room. I asked for a refund so we could go elsewhere, and have been given the runaround. We checked in Friday night, or early Saturday morning, and the front desk man was very rude. It took 45 minutes to get us checked in. We booked through booking.com, but they haven't been much help either. I strongly don't recommend this place.

The room was small and, in my opinion, disgusting. The bathroom was about three feet from the bed, and the shower knob was gross. I took a picture of it. The advertised breakfast was a little three pack of doughnuts, lol. I have pictures to post if the site lets me.

The bed was great, the fridge cooled well, and we had a great weekend on a tight budget. The hotel was available at short notice and half the price of the place we usually stay, so that helped. It's across from the seawall and beach. If the bed hadn't been so comfortable, the stay wouldn't have been as good. The floor looked clean, but our socks got dirty fast and we couldn't walk barefoot. The bathtub was badly stained and had no nonskid mat, so we used the floor mat in the tub to shower. The phone didn't work to call the office, and when I tried from my cell, nobody answered. One bedside lamp only worked after I pulled the bed away from the wall and found it unplugged. That's why I gave it three stars.
