Motel 6 Galveston, TX

It was clean and convenient, and the beds were comfortable enough for one night. The room was basic, with a fridge and small microwave, but no hand soap, shampoo, or bath soap. I didn’t find any Wi-Fi, if it was available. Not my usual kind of hotel, though it did the job.

I’m a federal agent, and I’m not going to stand for what I see as terrorist activity. They accused me of illegal trafficking, even though I paid rent 2 hours 39 mins ago, then called the cops to remove me. I’ll leave for Studio 6 and come back once a detailed cleanup and reestablishment have been done. They don’t run this place properly. The Gerald hotel clerk who checked me in at 3:30 a.m. on 03/01/2026 made me wait while he did an audit. He was using marijuana in his car, and the stench was very noticeable. They haven’t cleaned my room once. I told them not to clean it while I was out, but on 03/04/2026 and 03/25/2026 I repeatedly asked them to clean it, and they gave me supplies to do it myself. The TV’s Wi-Fi doesn’t work, and YouTube, Disney Plus, ESPN, Hulu, and who knows what else are unavailable. They won’t fix it. Is this a conspiracy? I’m staying until this is fixed and sorted out. Government Agent! Choose your room properly! Scam Location!

The check-in lady was very polite, and the room lighting was much better than at one of the places I stayed in Dallas a couple of years ago. Everything else in the room was satisfactory too, though early morning storms left a large puddle inside because the weather stripping was partly peeled away from the bottom of the door. I mopped up what I could, and thankfully the floor was nearly dry when I headed to the cruise port. I stayed here three weeks ago the night before my cruise. If you stay at least one night before sailing, you can leave your vehicle here free for the whole cruise. I enjoyed the stay and will book again if there’s availability next time I cruise from Galveston. Free cruise parking, you know!

The basics are simple, just a bar of soap, with no shampoo or hair dryer, but the motel was much cleaner than I expected. I was hesitant since Motel 6 isn’t known as a luxury motel, yet I’d stay again and recommend it to anyone on a budget. We booked because parking was free for a week. Lyft took our group of four and our luggage to the cruise port in 10-15 minutes for $20. Great find!
