Garden City Inn

We spent two nights here, and the man at the counter was rude. In the room, there was black mold in the bathroom and heater vents, dirt on the window, and hair in the bathroom. Something was floating in the coffee. In the middle of the night I found a live roach crawling on the floor. The building’s back door doesn’t lock, and drunks and trash hang out back there. When we told the owner, manager, or whoever he was, he just said, “I know.” The pool doesn’t work as advertised, and breakfast is bananas and cereal. Never again. This place has gone to garbage.

It was shockingly dirty and moldy, and the manager was very inflexible about changing rooms. He said the only way to switch was to cancel without a refund and pay in full for a new room. Only then would he walk you through the empty rooms to find one that wasn’t gross. I’d say booking here should be a last resort.

The owner was very accommodating about our somewhat late arrival, and the room was great. The sink was well lit, and the tub was nice. We had everything we needed for a stop on the way to Colorado, and we’d stay again if we’re passing through.

The staff were fantastic, and the rooms were super clean.
