Super 8 by Wyndham Garland/Rowlett/East Dallas Area

I like Wyndham hotels, but this stay felt like a misrepresentation of the company. I stayed three days and never saw anyone cleaning. The staff were unpleasant and seemed to hide from guests. When both of us went to the desk for towels, we got only one set, even though we both needed one. The king suite was spacious, but its 40-inch TV sat far from the bed in a very large bedroom. The toiletries were just conditioning shampoo and watered-down lotion, with no soap. I’ve included pictures. For $20 more, I’d stay at the Laquinta across the highway.

I did feel fairly safe behind the two auto-locking doors, but the hotel is clearly run down, and the photos make it look nicer than it is. The halls smelled like weed. For cleaning supplies, we got two tiny shampoo bottles and a bar of soap, with no soap dish or shower liner, so the floor and mat stayed wet. The bathroom floor was visibly uneven, there was something exposed, and things were generally in disrepair. After my friend spotted a roach, I asked to move rooms. The room two doors down was better in most ways, but still had a roach and mold.

I got the room I’d asked for when I reserved. The front desk fellow was really friendly and helpful, and the prices were awesome.

The customer service was poor, and the place was infested with roaches. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, and no one should stay here. It’s not worth even $20 a night. Avoid it at all costs.
