We loved the covered patio out back, with its lights and a place to sit with friends, talk, and have drinks. The wraparound porch had lots of comfortable chairs, and it was an easy walk across the street to the beach. Bill and Veda were wonderful, the rooms were roomy with big bathrooms, and the food was great. It all felt like home.

Bill and Veda struck a lovely balance: they made sure we had what we needed while giving us privacy. Breakfast was a wonderful way to start each day, and they had helpful ideas for things to see. Cypress House is right across from the beach and well placed for exploring up and down the outer banks, with everything else close by too. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place there.

October was a pleasant time to visit the Outer Banks and miss the crowds. We stayed at Cypress House in October 2023, and it made a delightful base for our many outings. Veda and Bill were accommodating hosts, with plenty to say about local history and places to visit or eat. The breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed talking with them. The nearby Wright Brothers National Memorial is a gem full of fascinating history. We could easily have spent a whole day there.

The room was on the small side, though the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Veda and Bill were sweet, and even bought a new umbrella so my sun-sensitive wife could enjoy the beach. There's complimentary coffee, tea, and filtered water, and the beach is very close. Breakfast was served inside or outside when the weather allowed, and we shared ours at the big dining table. The backyard looked lovely for reading, so we'd like to return when it's cooler. They have what you need to enjoy a stay in this coastal area.

Breakfast was one of the highlights, and it was a healthy way to start the day. My parents and I had a lovely stay, thanks in part to Bill and Veda, who shared good places to visit and eat during our short time in OBX. The beach is right across the street, and the location is convenient for exploring. I'd recommend Cypress House to anyone wanting a home away from home.
