Two weeks later, I still hadn’t gotten my deposit back. When I called, the man who answered was unpleasant and acted like my asking about it was an inconvenience. He said they kept it because I had a dog in the room, even though I’d told the front desk at check-in that it was a service animal. He said the refund would take up to 7 business days. I said that was unacceptable since they’d already violated the law, and he hung up. I thought this would be a safe, friendly place to stop because it was outside Baton Rouge. Clearly I was wrong. Beware. At check-in, I told the woman at the desk my family and I would have a service animal with us. She said she didn’t need any information and didn’t make a note on my account. That same night, around midnight, there were 10 police officers in the parking lot because of a stabbing at the hotel. The following night, we noticed several vehicles with people sleeping inside them in the lot. There’s an old saying, “ANY EXCUSE WILL DO.” The laws were violated, and the reason doesn’t make it valid. Stop making excuses. Another quote: “In order to be better, you have to do better.” So DO BETTER. The person who answered the phone was more sarcastic than apologetic, as if my call was about something trivial. If your policy is to charge a customer without raising the concern with them, YOU NEED TO DO BETTER. I worked in the Executive Office of the largest bank in the US, and no bank policy takes 7-10 business days to release refunded funds. Don’t quote customers a timeframe if you have no control. Again, DO BETTER.

The staff are wonderful, especially Bryan and Chelsea, though everyone has been awesome. My room was very clean, and this is one of my favorite hotels. I love staying here and highly recommend it.

The bed was easy enough to sleep in, but its frame was broken and the whole thing shifted whenever I got on or off. No, I’m not that big, lol. The location was great and close to where I needed to be, and the service was good. No real complaints otherwise.

I found this on expedia for around $70 a night, and it turned out to be a pretty nice deal. The bed was really comfortable, and the blackout curtains worked great. Breakfast had lots of options, both hot and cold, with some things you could take on the go.
