We were happy to find a continental breakfast waiting for us in the morning. It was thoughtfully prepared and nicely presented. Dinner at Edgers was delicious, and our new server and his mentor seemed to anticipate everything we needed. We felt well cared for. We’ve stayed at Belhurst Castle several times, and this recent stay in the castle was wonderful. The weather was unusually warm, and since the castle doesn’t have air conditioning, we really appreciated that someone had put a fan in our clean, comfortable room. We also enjoyed the grounds and gorgeous lake. It was a lovely, relaxing anniversary, and we look forward to returning.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to elope. The property is beautiful, with gorgeous views and so many picture-perfect spots inside and out. It made the day feel intimate and special without adding stress. Especially great for pictures. I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting a scenic, meaningful place to celebrate.

Our May 2026 wedding was in the Solarium at Belhurst, and it was a great size for our 30 guests. It was already loud with that many people, though, so I think a larger group would feel crowded and get even louder. The venue’s look depends a lot on the weather. We had sun during our noon to 5pm wedding, which brightened the room. When I first visited on a cloudy day, the Solarium looked dreary. The lake side doesn’t get the sunset, so golden hour photos aren’t really an option. There are bugs outside the castle that kept getting caught in my dress, which is probably expected by a lake. The train tracks run between the grounds and the lake, but we didn’t hear a train. The meal portions were generous, and guests were too full to finish the cake. The pot roast was dry, but the salmon, parmesan-crusted chicken, and lamb were delicious. Food arrived on time according to our timeline. There was no venue fee, just a food and beverage minimum that wasn’t very high, which felt like a great deal with those lake views. Morgan was upfront about all the costs before we signed, unlike other venues we spoke with where costs seemed hidden. They kept our leftover appetizers, main courses, and desserts in their fridge until we were ready to go. Setting up decorations the day before and taking them down the day after was convenient, and workers helped with setup. The venue is wheelchair accessible, with lots of benches and seating outside for guests. A few things didn’t go smoothly. Guest room AC wasn’t turned on until Memorial Day, which was a big inconvenience for guests staying overnight on a day in the 80s. At least the Solarium had AC. We only saw Morgan, our wedding coordinator, once on the wedding day; she hadn’t stopped by to help with decorations the day before, even though she said she would. Guests weren’t directed to our wedding location despite a promise that they would be. The Bluetooth speaker they provided kept stopping. It worked for our first dance, but not during dinner or cocktail hour, so I’d bring your own speaker.

My parents, husband, and I had a wonderful stay at the Belhurst Castle. We had two large, immaculately clean rooms at the Vinifera Inn, both overlooking beautiful Seneca Lake. My mom got a massage and I had a facial, and the staff fit us in on short notice after snow left us “snowed in” for an afternoon and night. Both services were fabulous. We also had happy hour drinks and snacks, did a wine tasting, and upgraded to the cheese and chocolate tasting, which was so much fun. We enjoyed breakfast each morning too. Staying at the Belhurst made us feel like kings and queens. It’s a beautiful property, and we hope to come back in spring or summer. Thanks for making the stay incredible!

We stopped by while touring wineries around the lake. The property is beautiful and seems to be a popular wedding spot. Even as visitors just out enjoying the wineries, we found the staff welcoming and friendly. It felt like a luxury hotel experience. The cheeses and truffles were excellent, and the tasting flights were preset. Some wines left a lot to be desired, but the experience as a whole made up for that.
