The room itself felt old and dim, with no USB ports, and the bedding looked dingy. It didn't smell outright dirty, but it didn't feel fresh either. I also found the microwave and refrigerator unplugged. I plugged the fridge in and waited an hour, then tried the dial setting the employee explained, but it stayed warm. The Wi-Fi was too weak for my online meeting, so I had to use LTE. The front desk employee was courteous when I arrived in Savannah after a long drive. Just as he was handing me a key, the manager checked the computer and redirected me to room 119, saying it was really warm and asking whether I wanted a warm room. I asked about the signal because I needed to meet a client online, and he assured me Wi-Fi was strong in every room. That made me wonder why every room wasn't warm. Later, while the employee was telling me how to adjust the fridge, the manager interrupted him about something unrelated and didn't excuse himself. At checkout, the manager greeted me with an overly familiar “How you doing, man?” He hadn't asked how the stay went, but did ask for a 10-star review. When I mentioned the refrigerator, he said I should have told them it wasn't working. He seemed to have forgotten the conversation he'd interrupted the night before, so I reminded him. He offered a discount on a future stay. If he knew room 119 was warm, he may also have known its refrigerator was unplugged and not working. His apparent lack of awareness after choosing that room for me suggests either incompetence or a lack of concern. I hope he handles things more professionally in the future.
