Days Inn by Wyndham Georgetown

I'm a truck driver from Canada, and our truck broke down, leaving us stuck here for three days with few resources. The rooms were near and clean, and breakfast was basic but fine. The problem came when we asked to buy water. Bottles cost $1 each, and we were willing to pay, but we had no USD cash. We offered to pay by card or with CAD cash, but the man flatly refused and said it wasn't possible. We asked to add it to our room bill, and they wouldn't do that either. Water is a basic human need and right, and we were denied it. That was inhumane and disgusting. This place is absolute garbage.

We were in town all weekend for softball tournaments and needed a place within budget, but this place was gross and felt shady and sketchy. I didn't feel safe staying there with my two kids. The first room had a huge hole above the shower ceiling, stains on both beds, covers, and sheets, plus dirty walls and floors that clearly hadn't been swept or mopped. I went back to the office for a new key. The second room was way at the back of the facility, and its floors were dirty too, with stains on the bedding and hair all over the tub and shower walls, though there wasn't a hole in that shower ceiling. We didn't stay. I turned in the key less than an hour after arriving, but they refused to refund my money. Just horrible!

The room was clean enough, but there was no hot water, coffee maker, blow dryer, iron, or ice bucket. For anything you needed, you had to call the front desk, though I doubt they'd bring hot water. A wall socket had a short, there was a substantial leak under the sink that left the bathroom floor wet, and the accessible shower was very slippery. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

The location is great, but the bed bug bites all over my brother's body were awful. He stayed here for 4 nights (4/9 - 4/13), and because of the humidity he thought the bites were from mosquitoes. They were NOT. No wonder the rating is 2.7 stars.
