Hampton Inn Georgetown-Marina

We’ve stayed here about half a dozen times over the past few years, but this visit was pretty bad. There were so few working outlets in our rooms that we had to take turns charging devices. The family room TV wasn’t connected to the internet, and the front desk said only the bedroom TV was. Then, to top it off, we had a cold shower in the morning. There was no hot water.

Janie is such a welcoming, sweet host, an absolute jewel. Friendly faces like hers and her staff’s are why we’ll keep staying here. Thanks!

I stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Georgetown Marina from July 3rd to July 6th. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, but the service issues left me feeling uncomfortable and undervalued. I’ve already contacted Hilton corporate and hope they take these concerns seriously. On my second morning, housekeeping knocked at 8:00 a.m. and tried to enter without notice or permission. I hadn’t requested service and was staying several more days, so this felt like a serious safety concern. Breakfast was advertised until 10:00 a.m., but by 9:30 many items were gone. When I asked, staff were dismissive. One person said, “I can’t cook anything in 10 minutes.” Nobody came back to replenish food or help until after breakfast hours had ended. On July 6th, I also had an issue with the dining staff about alternative breakfast meats. I appreciated that they eventually responded, but the initial attitude was disappointing. I raised my concerns at the front desk and was told the manager wouldn’t be available until Monday, during a holiday weekend. That left me with no way to address the problems while I was there.

The building was very quiet, and breakfast was decent. The grounds, lobby, and room were clean, and the staff were very nice. At $195 on a Wednesday, though, there’s no reason for a mattress to be so worn out, sagging and bottomed out. I can’t imagine how it would feel for someone over 150 lbs.
