Sonesta Essential Savannah

Abhi was wonderful when we unexpectedly needed to add another night. He took care of everything and was friendlier and more courteous than staff at other hotels we've visited. The room was very clean and the bedding comfortable. It's a quiet spot with easy highway access and a convenient drive to downtown Savannah. We're grateful for Abhi and will definitely stay here again. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

The hotel has some wear, but it was very clean and quiet, and the hospitality was superb. Breakfast tasted good, especially the coffee made from fresh beans. Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, and Cracker Barrel are nearby, and the hotel is conveniently just off 95. Abhi, the manager, was efficient and courteous; he even offered to show me the room before I paid for a night's stay.

I keep coming back, three times in two months so far. I'd have stayed more often if the hotel hadn't been sold out. My oldest is at Georgia Southern, and this location works perfectly for us. I much prefer it to staying farther into Savannah, and there are several restaurants right nearby, with others easy enough to reach. Parking has been easy and feels safe. It's an older building, so don't expect a luxury remodel or a costly stay. The place is clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet, and safe, which is exactly what I need at a price I can manage. They're gradually freshening things up, and I can imagine it becoming too expensive for me once it's fully remodeled. For now, I'm glad I found it. The breakfast is standard free hotel fare: some hot food, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, tea, and juice. Nothing fancy, but enough that you won't go hungry. Abhi makes the place special. He remembers me, greets me with a smile, and seems truly happy to have guests. He cares whether your stay goes well, tries to sort out problems, and proudly points out updates. He notices when someone needs a hand and offers help. That feels very different from hotels where you feel like a bother. I do wonder when he sleeps, since he always seems to be around and available, still smiling. I was unsure about staying because pets are allowed, but cleanliness has been good. My daughter is allergic to cats and dogs and had no reaction. They seem to clean well after guests with pets, and the rooms don't have carpet. Savannah hotels can be damp and musty in the humidity, but we haven't had that problem here. The beds have been comfortable, though temperatures vary from room to room. They're probably working on that. Some rooms have wall controls, others have wall units. If you like to sleep late, ask for the side that doesn't get the morning sun. There are shades, but light still comes in around the edges. This is a great budget stay, and the important things are covered. Abhi makes you feel welcome, which means a lot when personal connections seem so rare.

The team made us feel welcome throughout the day, and everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Abhi was especially kind when we checked in, making the process easy and setting a good tone for our stay at Sonesta Essential Savannah. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location worked well for what we needed. We had a pleasant stay, and the staff really stood out.
