SpringHill Suites Savannah I-95 South

The beds and linens were clean, and breakfast was good. The staff were awesome, and the front desk clerk said she'd make sure management heard about my concerns. Still, we'll pay more to stay in Hilton Head or historic Savannah next time. There were a lot of problems in the room: the shower was dirty, with hair, sand, orange algae in the corners, and dirt on the floor behind the door. There were chips, what looked like shredded paper, and a spoon by the air conditioner. Black mold was starting on the bathroom ceiling, the kitchenette needed cleaning, and the couch was dirty. None of the 10 USB charging ports worked, and the desk lamp was rusty, broken, and unusable. The indoor pool was very cloudy, which made me think its filter wasn't working properly and raised concern about contaminants.

We're here tonight, and the location is convenient, but this doesn't feel like the somewhat upscale brand it's supposed to be. Our room has a strong stinky dog smell. Running the air helps a little, but it still stinks. The Wi-Fi doesn't work at all, and the room is dirty. My wife wiped down all the light switches and showed me dirt on the washcloth. We haven't had breakfast yet, but the setup looks very limited. Waffle House it is.

I slept okay because the bed was comfortable, but there were several annoyances. The room felt dated, and the bathroom was quite dirty. The shower kept dripping, so I put a towel on its floor to catch the drops, and it badly needed cleaning. The TV's YouTube connection kept cutting out.

For a quick stop by the highway, it was a decent option. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and nice, the hotel is easy to reach right off I-95, and breakfast had a better variety than I usually expect. We were there for a soccer tournament, though, and the fields weren't nearby, so we had to drive extra each day. Noise was the main problem. The walls are very thin, and kids ran and screamed in the hall for hours. We could hear it all from our room, which made relaxing hard. There was also mold on the bathroom ceiling. I know humidity in Savannah can cause that, but it still needs to be cleaned and dealt with. Fine for an overnight stay, but the noise, cleanliness issue, and distance from the fields made the experience less enjoyable.
