We had to keep our cat locked up all night because the owners thought it might dirty the bed, which should be washed anyway. The cat wailed through the night, keeping us up and probably disturbing the neighbors, too. This didn’t feel pet friendly to us. If I’d known it only meant dogs, I wouldn’t have stayed, and I won’t come back.

The location is perfect for staying in Gettysburg, and for a fair price we got a clean room with what we needed for one or two nights. Our AC stopped working after the first night of our two-night visit. The young woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful, and she moved us to a slightly newer room. For the price, it was an okay stay.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and we found the beds clean and comfortable. It’s quiet, too. We were only passing through on our way north and needed the basics, so it worked well for us. It’s nowhere near a Marriott, but we loved our stay and plan to come back next year. People seem to either love this place or hate it!

The owner brushed off my concerns, saying the room wasn’t dirty, just stained, and there was nothing she could do. We’d found dirty towels in the bathroom, yellow stains and dirt on the bedding, and dead bugs on the floor. As soon as we entered, there was a musty smell. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Gettysburg was easy to get around from here, but the room was a problem. I got sick about 20 minutes after we arrived, with a sore throat, congestion, and a headache. I felt fine whenever we left, then the symptoms started again when I went back in. Medicine didn’t help. The sheets and towels were stained, the toilet seats were chipped, and stink bugs were in the beds and behind the paintings. The door nearly locked us in several times even though it was unlocked. Taking our dogs out meant walking behind the motel, and there should be a dog park or some designated space if they expect dogs to use a particular area.
