The Swope Manor Bed & Breakfast

Bruce and a server made our last morning especially memorable. Our daughter was performing on NBC, so they set up breakfast at the chess table and tuned the nearby TV to her program so we could watch live while eating. It was so kind and completely custom. We spent three nights in the spacious main-floor Swope Suite, with easy access to the period parlors and two dining rooms. The kitchen was well supplied, and we were encouraged to use it; we also appreciated the 24-hour coffee and tea service. Internet worked well at the chess table, much better than in the suite. Each day brought delicious breakfast from the gracious staff, and the other guests were upbeat and interesting. The Manor felt like home, right in Gettysburg’s historic center, where we walked to restaurants and historic places that saw action during the wider battle. Without a doubt, it was a special and unique part of our trip.

The Garden Room’s indoor whirlpool was a fantastic treat during our Valentine’s Day weekend. Breakfasts were filling and amazing, and there was a grand table where we could play games. The area’s history was a bonus, too. Great value, and definitely recommend!

More than anything, the caring staff made this the best bed and breakfast I’ve stayed at. We traveled with an infant, and they kindly cut his fruit into tiny pieces just because they wanted to help. They also provided a rollaway air mattress. The food, room, and accommodations were incredible, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We love this place, couldn’t recommend it more, and hope to return soon :)

After full days touring the battlefields, this was a comfortable, quiet, relaxing place to come back to. The staff were super friendly and inviting, and our fellow guests were a joy to talk with. Swope Manor was a great base for our Gettysburg trip, with lots of restaurants and shopping very close by. We’d highly recommend it and can’t wait to return!
