Best Western Tower West Lodge

The restaurant on-site was cheap, and the food I got was good for that price range. The property and rooms felt like budget travel, without the comfort or welcome I’ve found at other Best Westerns. The layout also left me feeling unsafe as a solo traveler, though luckily nothing happened. Nothing went wrong during my stay, but I’d rather have had an actually pleasant experience than one where technically nothing happened. If you can, I’d honestly pick a different hotel.

A very nice atmosphere, with a restaurant next door, other places to eat nearby, and a fuel station close by. The location is great, and I’ll definitely stay again when I’m in Gillette. The desk staff were polite, the rooms clean and spacious, and the beds clean and comfortable. All amenities were available.

Parking during the week is basically nonexistent because work trucks fill it up. The carpet is nasty, and the hallways don’t have any floorboards. Several things in the room didn’t work: the phone, the TV, and the outlet on the nightstand between the beds. The microwave had nowhere to plug in, so I had to pull it out of its slot and find another outlet. To get the room cleaned, you have to fill out a piece of paper they give you. Why not just leave a placard in the room to hang outside the door? Don’t waste your money. It isn’t worth it.

For dinner it was $40 per person, and there wasn’t a continental breakfast. The rooms are extremely overpriced for what you get; I’d probably choose the budget hotel across the street, where the price at least tells you what quality to expect. These rooms and amenities are dated and dingy. The heater didn’t work, the non-smoking room smelled like it might also be used for smoking when needed, and the shower head was so old and clogged it should’ve been replaced two years ago. I’d stay anywhere else.
