Drury Plaza Hotel Richmond

Convenient for traveling, right off rt 95 in a safe, well-lit area. The place was very clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and courteous. They were especially helpful and quick when we arrived in the early morning.

Nothing negative to say about the hotel. It smelled wonderful as soon as we walked in, and the whole place was so clean. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot with good pressure, and I loved turning on the TV to see it welcome Deborah. Willie greeted me with a water and was so accommodating, and Breanna J. was wonderful too. You can tell they care, and the staff made this the best hotel experience I’ve had. We first stayed at a Courtyard Marriott on the drive home after our flight was canceled because of the shutdown. It was okay, but overpriced. I’m from New Jersey, and this Hampton Inn and Suited in Glen Allen will be my hotel from now on.

The hotel itself was good, with clean, functional rooms and plenty of breakfast choices. I especially want to recognize Willy, who was kind and helpful when I came back the next morning for a printout and a clearer explanation of what the hotel had received. A booking issue between Capital One and the hotel meant there was no reservation in the hotel system, even though Capital One still showed one. That still needs to be sorted out. The previous evening, when my family of five needed a room and ended up needing two, check-in didn’t feel nearly as attentive while we waited for a solution. Things happen, but Willy greeted me with a smile and showed real care when it counted.

The hotel sits away from the interstate, so there wasn’t much street noise. My accessible room was large, and the bed was decent, though softer than I prefer. I like a firm mattress, and these soft ones have that sinking feeling that isn’t good for people with bad backs. I arrived after 10pm with clients, and we parked and used a cart to bring their things to their room. Brianna was courteous and cheerful when she helped us. After I got my clients settled and went to my own room, I found the TV remote didn’t work. I called the desk, and Brianna brought up a replacement that worked fine.
