Hampton Inn Baltimore/Glen Burnie

I’ve stayed here several times for work, and it’s a decent business trip option. The room was clean, though the ottoman’s faux leather was peeling and there were a few other cosmetic issues. When there was a mix-up and I got a queen instead of a king, staff offered to make it up with rewards points. Breakfast was pretty good, and they kept it well stocked.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and there was always hot, fresh coffee in the lobby. The location was handy too, with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within five minutes. My room was clean and as expected for this kind of hotel. I booked two queen beds because that was the only option with the microwave and fridge I wanted. The bed and blankets were good, but the pillows were awful. They looked fluffy and big, then flattened into a hard one-inch pancake once I put my head down. Since I was staying a week, I bought two firm queen pillows for $25 at the discount store across the parking lot, and that was well worth it. On several occasions, large, loud groups of guests left strong herbal smells in the entrance and elevators.

The staff were very helpful getting things set up for our Mahogany Shea & Silk community conference, and all my clients were comfortable in their rooms. It was an amazing stay, and we’ll certainly book again.

My tech and glasses, worth over $1,000, were taken by an employee. The hotel says I have no proof, so I’m left with the loss. It took them more than a month to file a claim and give me a claim number, and they put me through the runaround with suggestions like filing police reports. I live out of town, so how am I supposed to prove what I brought into the hotel and what went missing? Unless you record everything at every moment, the thief gets away with taking whatever they want. If you have to stay, record and document all your valuables in the room. I still don’t know how you’re meant to prove they were stolen. Don’t trust them to do the right thing if something goes wrong. They may act kind and caring, but they don’t care. Good luck here, sticky fingers is on duty!
