It took two days to get basic services working, and after I first reported the problems, it took eight hours to get help. The room I was given on arrival had no working AC, phone, or TV, basic things that matter especially in summer. I told the front desk at breakfast on my second day, and a technician confirmed the AC only blew air without cooling or responding to the thermostat. The TV would run for a minute, then freeze on three circles or a spinning circle. Its streaming options also had no local stations for weather, events, news, or traffic, which felt detached and uncaring toward the local community. I don’t carry a phone, so without room phone service I couldn’t contact my family or, in an emergency, 911, the front desk, or management. That service matters a lot for families with small children who may know how to call 911 but not be able to use an adult’s device. The pool had no water, and the fitness room was locked with its equipment under tarps. After the technician checked the issues, I was told at 10:00 a.m. that I’d get an identical room with working equipment. By 4:00 I still hadn’t been moved. I went back to complain, and the on-duty manager said there was an identical room on the fourth floor. She lied: it wasn’t the same type of room, wasn’t listed at the same rate as my reservation, and its TV only had sound, no picture. She was rude and disrespectful, and I’d already moved my things. I returned to my original room, found the technician, and he got a cleaning crew to prepare another room with working AC and TV, though its phone still didn’t work. I moved again at 6:00. The woman at the desk lying to me still irks me. Crappy quality, very disrespectful and callous.

The hotel felt disorganized, unprofessional, and unsafe, and I wouldn’t come back. Someone tried to get into my room three times in one day, and the front desk couldn’t explain why. The renovation wasn’t mentioned beforehand, and there was constant noise and a musty smell throughout the hotel. When I arrived, the power was out, so I couldn’t check in until someone brought a laptop. I had to find my fourth-floor room in the dark with my phone flashlight. The room itself had been updated. The shuttle was just a personal car, and the driver talked loudly on speakerphone the whole ride. Breakfast wasn’t worth having, so you’re better off going to a restaurant. The Wi-Fi didn’t work properly, and I had to ask for the TV remote.

I’ll never stay here again. The place stinks, and the hallways are extremely loud. Nobody told me in the confirmation email that I’d have to pay an extra $100 deposit. The staff were unbelievably rude and didn’t give me a receipt when I asked. The overweight, middle-aged woman at the counter kept talking over me and yelling instead of answering my questions. She wouldn’t give me her name and said she was the manager. I asked around and found out she was ESMERALDA. After I kept asking for a receipt, at least by email, she finally sent one, but it doesn’t show my deposit payment. Worst hotel and rudest customer service ever!

The rooms were clean and free of bed bugs, the shower had good pressure, and the AC worked fine. I also loved the older parts of the hotel, especially the beautiful wood. There’s a large lot that can fit big trucks, RVs, and even semis with trailers. But the lot smelled like a pot house every time I went out, and the hallways reeked of cigarettes. Several parts of the rooms and common areas need upgrades. Breakfast was sorely lacking on Saturday morning: nothing to drink but coffee, no juice or milk, and although there was cereal, there was no milk for it. The sausage looked dried out, like it had been sitting there a while. The woman replenishing food spoke very little English and didn’t seem to understand it, so it was hard to ask about missing items or when food would be replenished. The room price felt too high for the quality and amenities.
