Glen Capri Inn & Suites - Burbank Universal

I never even got access to my suite. This was a problem with staff, basic customer service, professionalism, and handling a small detail sensibly. Before I reached the office, a man hurried out and asked what I was doing on the property. That was triggering. I said I was looking for the office and had a reservation. He said he worked there and invited me inside, then added condescendingly, "people just loiter so I thought you were lost or something." I had booked through Agoda and handed him my ID. I’d used the name I usually go by on the booking, "Jimmy Doe", while my ID and credit card said "James Doe". I also showed my ID, credit card, BC, and booking confirmation to prove I was the person who booked. He yelled at me as if I were a child who’d stolen someone’s identity, saying, "I don't think you're the same person." Even with all that evidence, he doubled down, lectured me about their policy, and questioned whether my documents were real or stolen. He was calling me a thief and a liar and yelling in my face. He took screenshots of my ID on his system, then walked out to call Agoda. They weren’t helpful either. They refused to refund me because they counted me as a no-show. I was there, and the front staff treated me like crap. It’s disappointing to go through such an ordeal over something so minor. I won’t go anywhere near this company again.

For the price, this is a good place to lay your head. It’s a motel, and the price reflects that. The staff were clean, helpful, and very friendly, and the location is great. The showers were nice too. My only complaint is breakfast: there was no hot food beyond toast and coffee, and the counter was otherwise empty. If you like Raisin Brand cereal, you might be happy. As a diabetic, all I could have was two pieces of toast. Still, it’s a good find for a motel.

Great stay, with clean rooms and awesome service. The room had what I needed, including a locker for valuables, mini fridge, ironing board, and hair dryer. The microwave is in the breakfast room. Breakfast was very light, with no protein at all. My one surprise was the $7 nightly parking charge. I’d stay here again because the rooms were clean.

I was fascinated by the movie memorabilia celebrating the Glean Capri's screen history. The simple breakfast hit the spot, the rooms were quiet, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. This place exceeded my expectations.
