The lobby games and atmosphere are still a highlight, and it’s a clean, pleasant place to rest for a night. The room worked fine, though it felt smaller than I remembered. The location and food were less appealing than I expected from my past TRU stays. We arrived at 4:10pm and were told our room wasn’t ready. They offered a room on the second floor instead of the fourth, and we said yes, but a radio check on its cleaning status showed that wouldn’t work. We waited in the lobby briefly until our room was cleaned and we got the keys. Odd for after 4pm, but no big deal. The earplugs on the nightstand seemed strange at first, since I’m used to seeing them in airport hotels. Then, in the middle of the night, a train blasted its horn like the bass line in a 90s hip hop song, so I understood why they were there. The next night was nice and quiet apart from the train. For breakfast, stick to toast or cereal. The eggs tasted like a watery powdered version of the worst hotel eggs, and neither salt, pepper, nor Tabasco made them edible. The sausage patties were nearly as bad. As a keto guy, my only other option was hard-boiled eggs, so good luck to my fellow passengers on the long drive later.

The room was perfectly clean, and the laundry service washed and dried my clothes perfectly. I couldn’t pay for the laundry, and Noah kindly helped me out. He’s very helpful and kind, and employees like him are why the hotel deserves its stars. I liked everything. Please make sure Noah is paid well and always gets a bonus, he deserves it. Thank you very much.

My company booked this hotel, so I hadn’t done the research myself. After three nights, I found the room cozy, with everything within easy reach, and the staff were professional, nice, and good at their jobs, even though there was only one person around. The floors were dirty. I spilled a little water and wiped it up with a white towel, and, well, that says enough. Not having a microwave or coffee maker in the room was also an unpleasant surprise. It’s in a business park in the valley, about 100 yards from active Spokane rail tracks. The train woke me three times, including a midnight horn blast that nearly gave me a heart attack. The big picture window looks nice but does nothing to block the sound. They provide foam earplugs, but I worried I might miss my phone alarm. Yeah, the train is rough, and don’t walk barefoot.

We’re on day three of a ten-day stay, and TRU has made a good impression so far. The rates are reasonable, the staff are professional, capable, and very friendly, and the place is well kept. If you need a very clean hotel in this area, Tru by Hilton is a sensible choice. Highly recommend!

Sandra at the front desk was a gem. That’s how every front desk clerk should treat guests, and plenty could learn from her. The rest of the stay felt like terrible value. I travel for work and usually choose Hilton because I appreciate the amenities and value, but on a busy Mother’s Day weekend, this normally $100-and-change room cost $300 with tax. I’ve never paid worse value for a room in my life. It was comically plain, with no coffee maker, notepad, or pen, and nobody even made the bed. That might be fine at $100, but at $300 it’s abysmal. I’ve paid less than $300 at five-star Hiltons. Hilton should be ashamed of charging mothers that much for this level of hotel just because they can.
