Residence Inn Denver Cherry Creek

The breakfast was the usual Marriott chain offering, highly processed and overly sweet. Fortunately, plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and shops are nearby. Our suite itself was clean, quiet, and well equipped, and the location is very good. We had a pleasant stay and will return when we're in Denver.

I come here several times a year when I'm in Denver. The location is handy, with restaurants and shopping within walking distance, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. Housekeeping does an excellent job, everything is very clean. Breakfast is basic but “free,” though you have to make your way through kids swarming the buffet. The parking lot is cramped, unattended, open to anyone who drives in, and still costs money. Marriott keeps adding “destination charges” and other markups that offer no value. It feels like another way they're taking advantage of their most loyal customers and taking away from the hospitality they claim to offer.

The room was roomy, quiet, and clean, and there are plenty of restaurants right outside the entrance. Parking was easy and there was lots of it. Sandy and Michael were wonderful, too. With such a good location, I’m not sure why this place is rated only three stars. Breakfast was standard.

The hotel is in a shopping center, and I’d spoken with the front desk a few times over the previous days about different questions. After a late business dinner on Friday, Precious told us the earlier staff had checked us out and said we couldn’t get our belongings until morning. We hadn’t realized the checkout date on the reservation was wrong. They had our card for the earlier nights and several ways to contact us, but no one had called or emailed. We offered to pay for another night, and there were several rooms available. Precious said she still couldn’t release our things, called Carla but got no answer, and waited for a manager to call back. We were still waiting at 11:30 p.m. Applaud.
