Glendive Lodge

The beds were very comfortable, and although the room looked a little older, it was very clean and had no odd smell. The common spaces seemed recently renovated. This motel was easy to get on and off I-94, included a good breakfast, and cost about half as much as the nearby hotels. I'd definitely stay again.

I won't stay here again. I spent one night in July and chose to pay cash. They said they needed the exact amount because they had no change, so I paid $78.00 on a $77.93 bill. When I got home the next week, I found the same stay had also been charged to my credit card. I couldn't find my receipt after traveling to several places, and the hotel said it had no records of the cash payment in its computer system. It seems the employee either didn't complete the transaction properly or didn't report the cash. Either way, the hotel had no record of it. I learned my lesson and will use a credit card for hotel payments from now on. For future stays in Glendive, I'll go elsewhere.

This place is a joke. I booked a room late at night, then decided to stay somewhere else and messaged them to cancel just 10-15 minutes later. They'd already charged me, so I lost $80+.

The room looked recently remodeled, was clean, and the AC was very cold on a 100 degree day. The location was good too, but the staff are the reason I'm writing this. I rarely leave reviews. We were camping at Makoshika when the wildfire started on July 2. About an hour before that, a rock put a hole in my vehicle's radiator. Hyundai Roadside Assistance wanted to tow my Santa Cruz more than 200 miles in the wrong direction, leaving my camper, family, and dogs behind. We were stuck. A Google Maps search put Glendive Lodge at the top, and when I called, they had one dog-friendly room left. The front desk clerk offered to hold it on my word alone, with no deposit or credit card. At check-in, she even waived the pet fees because of our situation. There was one radiator shop in town, and it was open July 3. They had no one scheduled, so they took my truck in to patch the hole. The repair would take hours, and the same employee let us stay in the room until it was finished at 3:00 that afternoon. It was 100 degrees and we would've had nowhere to go. I didn't even have to ask. She was going to take care of us. It was a very hard 24 hours, more than 1400 miles from home. Sometimes people show up just when you need them most. We're eternally grateful.
