Clarion Hotel Jackson Northwest

There were ashes on the bathroom floor that looked like weed, though the room itself didn't smell. The room was outdated, which I could've lived with for the price, but the floors should still have been cleaned. There were no proper towels, just two hand towels and a rag, and I expect a hotel to provide at least one towel. Housekeeping needs a lot of improvement.

The front desk kindly moved us to a suite after we told them about the problems in the first room, and the woman said it was for the inconvenience. We said she didn't have to, but the first room really was sorry: lots of things were broken, including a toilet handle that came out every time you flushed, and the floors were disgusting. The suite was a little cleaner and the beds were slightly more comfortable, though still hard, which is a matter of preference. But there was a lamp sitting on a chair beside the couch, nasty stuff on the purple throw pillow, and a big hole in the bathroom door. The tub was so rough that I had to lay down a towel so it wouldn't scratch the kids. This area isn't great either, with so many night walkers and homeless people around. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

At checkout, the woman at the desk spent more time chatting with the people who'd been hanging around there since early morning, and with the man fixing her electric chair, than helping us. The hall carpets and the carpet in our room were filthy, with colored stains I couldn't identify. The mattress had a stain down its side, the refrigerator was rusty at the bottom, and there was only one roll of tissue in the room. When we first arrived, children were running around and screaming in the second-floor hallway. I won't reserve here again or recommend it.

The breakfast selection was so limited that we skipped it. There was coffee in the breakfast room, but in our large room we had just one single-serve pod for a full-size coffee maker. The room itself was in rough shape, with burned-out bulbs and a tub that was peeling.
