Hampton Inn Glenwood Springs

The only thing I’d mark down is the small breakfast area. Everything else during our family’s stay was excellent, especially the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The location worked perfectly as a base for exploring the city and nearby cities, and made getting to the attractions easy. Fantastic stay.

Everything at this Hampton was fine apart from the construction. Right at 8 am, the hammering started above our room. The staff were nice about it and let us leave early without a penalty. If you tend to work or stay out late, it might be better to wait a few months before booking.

For around $150-200 a night, I think this place would be fine. At the roughly $400 we paid for a Saturday, I expected better care and upkeep. There was mold in the tub in room 211, and the caulking needs to be removed and redone. The staff were polite but seemed a little indifferent, not rude. You could stay across the street at Glenwood Springs for about $200, or at the resort for around $600, which may be better value. My stay was just okay, and I probably wouldn’t come back.

The room we were assigned, number 203, smelled strongly of smoking residue as soon as we entered. A can of "Febreeze" had been left on the heater under the window. I politely returned my room card to the front desk, but they couldn’t give us a comparable room or offer any price adjustment for the awful surprise in this filthy "Hampton Inn". We’d booked two nights for $419.49 and hadn’t been told the hotel was in the middle of a complete remodel. We also had to put a $50 incidental hold on a credit card before we could get the room. The continental breakfast was being served in a tiny lobby.
