Holiday Inn Express Glenwood Springs by IHG

The breakfast bar had a good range of choices, and the food was pretty good. My room was comfortable and clean, and the friendly, communicative staff made everything go smoothly. I had a pleasant stay at Holiday Inn and would recommend it.

The room was disgusting, despite the hotel seeming nice at first and the service being good. There was black mold in the bathroom, a large badly patched hole in the ceiling, and obvious signs of water leaking from the room above. Behind the wallpaper were soft spots, and so much mold was coming through the bathroom wallpaper. I stay with IHG regularly for work, and this was easily one of the worst rooms I’ve seen. The window was sealed shut too, the last thing you want in a moldy room.

Every staff member I saw during my two nights was awesome. There was a different person each time I came or went, and they all made me feel so welcome. I wish I’d gotten the name of the woman who checked me in so I could give her a shout-out. The only concern was the heater unit, which was a little loud, though no different from heaters elsewhere. I’ll stay again.

This wasn’t one of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed at in the IHG chain. There were very few cars when I checked in, which should have been a sign. The bigger problem came when I tried for over two hours to get a receipt for my expense report, because the bill wouldn’t show in my IHG Account. The hotel phone number didn’t work, the IHG bot was useless, and IHG Chat ended twice. I called IHG help, and they said the bill was missing because the booking was through third-party Expedia, even though I don’t use Expedia. I stayed, but got no points or nights, and Corporate IHG didn’t seem able to reach the hotel. I won’t stay here again.
