Super 8 by Wyndham Glenwood

The check-in woman was super friendly and helped carry my luggage upstairs. My room was quiet with hardly any outside noise, and the newer heat and air unit worked well without much noise. The bed was comfortable and the shower had three great settings. The place seemed very clean. The pool was a good temperature with walk-in steps and a five-foot depth, and the hot tub jets were powerful. The pool water looked a little cloudy, though, and the hot tub could use about five more inches of water. I found the pillows too firm and would’ve liked more choices, and the sink had no stopper. The South side faces a bright gas station and restaurant, while the North side looks onto a dark grassy area. There’s really only one nearby restaurant you can walk to. Breakfast could’ve been great, but when I came down at 8, many things were running low and nobody came to check. The waffles were gone, I got the last sausage, and only a few eggs were left. They also had cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, and yogurt. There’s no elevator, and my non-refundable booking was on the second floor. Overall, it was good value for the money.

We were pleasantly surprised by the large, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and air conditioning that worked well. The front desk staff were kind. The manager sat at the desk and ignored us while we waited to check in, though. A friendly smile and a quick hello to say someone would be with us soon would’ve helped. Or he could’ve worked out of sight, since it felt awkward to watch the other staff member rush to help guests while he didn’t help with check-ins. We had a good stay overall and would come back.

My kids were thrilled with the pool, and the rates were affordable. The rooms were very clean, too. You can tell the current owners have put real effort into improving the hotel, and the service was friendly.

AJ’s bar and Grill had really good food, and there’s a little gas station on site. The hotel itself is nice, but I had a bad experience with the manager. He became hostile with customers, and police had even been there. After not seeing him for two days, I went to book a third night and he got hostile with me, so I canceled and left. The next day I found out he’d charged my card for a night I wasn’t even there. Be careful about management and possible false charges if you stay here.
