Days Inn by Wyndham Goldsboro

This was my second stay here, and it went really well again. My room was clean, fresh smelling, and organized, so I was comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful as soon as I arrived, and breakfast before I left was great, with good choices and everything prepared well. I appreciate the warm hospitality, attentive service, and care for the details.

We booked through booking.com and decided to add another night. They said we could pay them directly at the booking price of $59, but charged us $77.80 instead. We were also charged $100 for smoking in the room, though we didn't smoke inside. They said they'd found ashes on the floor, but we smoked outside in front of the cameras. The hotel is non-smoking, and I think they were just looking for a reason to keep our deposit. The woman at the front desk was inattentive and rude. I won't be back.

They really went out of their way to accommodate me as a military member. Since it was a UTA weekend and I had to get up early, they tried to place me away from outdoor traffic noise. I had a small issue with the bedding, and they moved me to another room after the cleaning staff inspected it, without asking questions. I picked this hotel to save money and didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised. I know they treat all customers well, and the extra effort for military members meant a lot. If I have to pay for my own hotel when I'm in the area, this is where I'll stay.

People were wandering around all night and knocking on doors, like something drug related was going on. I checked out early because I was afraid for my safety and couldn't stay another night. I called the desk and went down there too, but nothing was done, even after they said they'd handle it. The online pictures were misleading. The room was dirty, with a plastic bag tied around the showerhead, a dirty tub, and disgusting towels and washcloths. I was glad I'd brought my own. There was hair on the bed sheets, so we slept in the chairs. This was the worst experience of my life. I wish I could add the pictures.
