La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gonzales LA

We loved the pillows, all fluffed up just how I like them for a good night's rest. We were on our honeymoon and booked on the way to New Orleans, and I've never had a better experience. DEBBIE at the front desk was heaven sent. She got us checked in and made sure we were all set. She's knowledgeable and so sweet. We love Debbie, and she'd make a great billboard for the company.

There are restaurants all around the hotel, and the rooms are beautiful. The bathroom sink leaked a little, but otherwise it was a perfect stay. Ms. Debbie was AMAZING 🤩, kind and so helpful from check-in to checkout. Breakfast was okay, and the breakfast host was nice too.

We rented several rooms for my grandmother's 96th birthday, and each one had the same disappointing experience. Construction around the area made getting to the hotel difficult, and the online pictures didn't match what we found. There were large patches of paint on the windows, slippery-feeling floors with a weird substance, bare walls, and you could hear easily through the rooms. One room had no washcloths, and getting some was like pulling teeth. Cell service was poor, and the suites had outdoor patio furniture for couches 🤦🏻‍♀️. The heavy smell of cleaning chemicals was bad, and the service desk clerk spent most of his time outside on the phone. We're usually so happy with LaQuinta, so this was a big disappointment.

The front desk lady was so kind and fixed the no-show problem quickly. I really appreciated that she didn't say my room number or phone number out loud with people behind me, and she was sweet each time I passed by. She's the only reason I'm rating the hotel remotely well. I'd called the night before check-in to say work had been pushed back and I'd arrive a day later. I confirmed with the person I believe was the manager that this would be fine, but I was still marked as a no show. In my room, there were children's stickers everywhere, lots of dead lightbulbs, and leftover food in the fridge. The dog area had no poop bags.
