Hampton Inn Mount Vernon

The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean, and the employees were great, especially at breakfast. The motel allows pets, and there were lots of dogs around, but we never heard them barking. I'd recommend this Hampton.

We didn't get a chance to use the pool, though it looked nice and clean. Breakfast had a good selection, the rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the sofa bed was broken, leaving our kids to sleep on it anyway. The bathroom lighting was poor for showering, and the rooms felt a bit dated. We could hear everything from upstairs and next door, including some guests making a lot of noise well past midnight.

The breakfast was a highlight, with lots of choices and even fresh squeezed juice. The desk staff were helpful when we asked for extra blankets, and the pool was a hit with the kids. It's close to the freeway and places to eat, and we had pizza delivered. The rooms are older but kept in good shape, and the hotel was clean and efficient.

The breakfast area was easy to get around in, had plenty of comfortable seating, and the staff kept the food stocked until 10:00 am. The breakfast itself was good, and the cleaning crew were friendly and helpful. Everything was clean, and the beds were comfortable, with plenty of outlets in the room. The common areas looked updated, and I was told the carpets and wall coverings had recently been replaced. Some of the wooden furniture and doors showed wear, though. When booking, note that some rooms include a microwave and fridge for a bit more money, while others don't, so choose the setup you want.
