Quality Inn Gonzales

I felt like taking a break instead of heading home after work one Saturday, and stumbled on this little family-run place. The staff treated me like family and went out of their way to help. My room was clean, the A/C worked great, and I enjoyed cooling off in the pool while watching a beautiful Texas sunset from the poolside. Breakfast was nice too. Since I was right down from HEB, I relaxed with watermelon, beer, and turkey sandwiches. It was a perfect getaway. 👌👍

There are big roaches in the room, and nothing else matters if the place isn't clean. I spoke with the front office, but nothing has been done about them. Some windows are broken, walls have holes, lights don't work, and the door handles only work a certain way, so you have to try several times to open the door. That's a safety hazard. The bathrooms have mold, as others have said. The showers have no hot or even warm water, the toilets barely flush, and both the shower and sink drain slowly. It looks like the place hasn't been wiped down in a long time. The desk and chair are falling apart, and I barely trust the bed or couch. Staff seem fine putting people in rooms with broken windows. Please don't come here.

We stopped to rest and shower in room 118. The beds were clean and soft, and the TV and microwave worked great. Most of the room was clean, though the fridge wasn't very cold. There was water under the plastic bathroom liner, and the water took a minute to heat up. We paid $78 for the night, with hot breakfast available until 9:30. Lots of food places are nearby, and Walmart is less than a mile away. We'd stay again.

We spent 1.5 weeks here, and the full fridge in our clean room was a big help. It was quiet, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the pool was so clean I couldn't keep my kid out of it. Breakfast had cereal, fruit, yogurt, big waffles, coffee, juice, and donuts. Two restaurants and a Dollar Tree are within walking distance, and there's a family-friendly church across the parking lot. There was construction, but it didn't interfere with our stay. We'd return without question.
