Maggie the manager made our stay especially nice with her hospitality, recommendations around town, and delicious home-cooked breakfast. This beautiful historic hotel is a real hidden gem in Gonzales. Each room has its own decor, and there's so much attention to detail throughout. We loved staying here and are looking forward to coming back soon.

The staff are what made this the most incredible hotel we've ever stayed at. They took care of us for four days, hand and foot, in a wonderfully simple, stress-free atmosphere. The hotel has a rich history, with stories of Bonnie and Clyde jumping from a second-story window to escape capture, Elvis resting here before a performance, and George Jones staying here. If you're near Gonzales, stop by to see Maggie and her staff. You won't be disappointed.

The service stood out most. We had to leave very early, and the staff were up before us to have fresh coffee, yogurt, and fruit ready. Our recently renovated room had two queen beds and lovely decor. The Alcalde hotel is a charming historic place, decorated for the holidays, and we were delighted to find its cute coffee shop. A hidden gem, and I'd encourage people to support this historic local business over a chain.

We found this little gem when we needed a last-minute place to stay near Round Top and everything there was booked. Maggie was so kind and attentive. The hotel has plenty of historic charm, and our suite had two TVs, a Keurig, fridge/freezer, and microwave. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the living room had more than enough seating. The property was extremely clean and sits on the city square, within walking distance of dining, bars, the theatre, and shopping. It feels more intimate than a hotel but is large enough not to be a BNB. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

We came here after a day at the Ottine Mineral Springs. The room was spacious and clean, the historical feel was lovely, and the staff were delightful.
