Comfort Inn & Suites Goodland

The room itself was great: two queen beds, carpet, a table and chair, another chair, a bench, plus a microwave and mini fridge. The lobby looked lovely, especially the tree, and breakfast was what we expected. We called ahead about a pet room and apparently got the last one that night. I’d stay here again, though I hope other guests are more considerate next time. Staff were friendly and the room was super nice, but what happened with other dogs really affected the stay. When we arrived, someone nearby let two dogs run loose around the property. I didn’t see leashes or anyone picking up after them, and it was hard to get our own dogs out of the car. The next morning, another guest walked three dogs around the building off leash, again with no sign of leashes or cleanup. There was a lot of dog poop around the building. At breakfast, a third guest brought their dog into the dining area beside a table, which made me uncomfortable eating in the shared lobby and seemed like it might violate food safety rules. Cameras and fines might encourage owners to follow the responsibility expected when renting a room. The 24/7 across the street has a great dog park. If you have time, we also recommend dinner at Traditions downtown.

The Night receptionist was the best, and quickly brought clean bedding after I called the front desk about the sheets. They hadn’t been changed, and it was obvious when I pulled back the covers. She offered to move us, but since we had fresh sheets, there was no reason to switch rooms. That was the only hiccup. Our floor, the second, needed vacuuming, and the TV remote batteries seemed nearly dead because changing channels was difficult. The room had nice furnishings. Comfort Inn is still our favorite place to stay, and that receptionist was simply amazing.

The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast was good. My husband especially liked the sausage. The staff were super nice and helpful, and we’d stay again and recommend the Comfort Inn and Suites in Goodland Ks. It may just be an older hotel, since it wasn’t as nice as some others we’ve stayed in.

We usually choose Comfort suites, and this one’s in a great spot. We travel with pets, so the huge grassy area was a big plus. The rooms are a good size, with comfortable beds and a shower that worked well. Our first night was in what I think was room 129. It smelled a little musty and the AC wasn’t great. The next night we had room 111, which was great. We’d definitely recommend it and come back.
